Buying a car at the end of the year is when prices are the cheapest.
December by far has to be the slowest month in the used car business. Actually October, November, and December are pretty slow. Nobody is buying so a lot of dealers are desperate. During holiday times people aren’t really thinking about buying a car as much. This is the best time for a consumer to buy a used car. The prices go back up at the beginning of the next year.
Consumers buy cars more often during tax season
Tax season is always the best time for car dealers. Everybody is receiving their income tax returns and consumers have money to put as a down payment on a car. This is the hardest time for car dealers to get cars. Every car dealer needs cars so the prices are sky high.
I have never worked in the new car business but I would assume that the same case goes for them. I’m sure franchise new car stores have to get rid of that years models to get next years vehicles in. They probably offer special financing, rebates, etc during holiday times. If you want to save a good $1,500 I recommend buying at the end of the year and if you decide to do this make sure to check out Good Vibes Auto Sales.
