Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 2018

It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month October 2018 ladies make sure you educate yourself on the different signs of breast cancer like lumps on the breast, pain in the breast area, nipple discharge, any change in size or shape of the breasts.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer found in women. Advances in breast screen tests and treatment have improved drastically since 1989. There are over three million breast cancer survivors in the United States alone so don’t panic. The chance of any woman dying from breast cancer is 2%. Make sure you are aware of the symptoms and the need for breast cancer screening in order to reduce risks.
The older women get the more likely they will get breast cancer.
Women that have had breast cancer before are more likely to get it again as opposed to women that have never had it. More exposure to estrogen increases the risk of breast cancer among women. Breast feeding reduces the risk of breast cancer because it reduces exposure to estrogen.
If you are a woman over the age of fifty make sure you start scheduling regular mammograms especially if you have had breast implants. Breast implants increase chances of women developing breast cancer.
